I'm Warped

The loom is warped.

First attempt at inkle weaving.

Close up of beginning - very dodgy selvedges and the actual weaving is too open. The warp threads are the only ones supposed to be showing except on the selvedges. If you look closely you can see the weft threads. Its quite obvious in 'real' life.

A bit further on and things are improving. The selvedges are firmer and I've got the hang of beating just enough to cover the weft.

One word: Addiction! :-)

cool. I've only ever done tapestry weaving a long long time ago, quite fancy a go at that there.

Wow, this is fascinating to see - I can certainly understand how addictive it can be!

That looks great. Since listening to Weavecast where she talks to a lady that uses an Inkle loom, I've got tons of ideas for different things I could make with it. I think it might be a good idea to start with it to learn how to weave. Sigh...time is always a problem though!

That looks so interesting but I mustn't be tempted. Too many addictions already. Groan!

Hi. I'm just surfing WeaveRing and had to stop and take a look at your inkle weaving (a temptation I've resisted so far). You're really catching on quickly. Thanks for sharing your progress.
